- To provide, maintain, and improve the StudyVerse app and its features.

- To display your study progress, streaks, and analytics.
- To enable real-time group study sessions via WebSocket connections.
- To operate the focus mode app blocker using device usage stats (processed on-device only).

3. App Permissions Explained
StudyVerse requests the following Android permissions:
- Usage Access (PACKAGE_USAGE_STATS): Required to detect which apps are open during study sessions so the app blocker can overlay them.
- Display Over Other Apps (SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW): Required to show the focus overlay on top of distracting apps during active study sessions.
- Query All Packages (QUERY_ALL_PACKAGES): Required to list installed apps so users can select which apps to block during focus sessions.
- Foreground Service: Required to keep the blocker and audio services running while the app is in the background.
- Post Notifications: Used to send focus reminders and group activity alerts.
- Internet: Required to sync data with our servers and enable real-time group features.
We only request permissions that are strictly necessary for core app functionality.
4. Data Sharing & Third Parties
We do not sell your personal data. We may share data with:
- Google Sign-In (Google LLC): For authentication only. Governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
- Our Backend Server: Hosted securely. Study data is transmitted over HTTPS with SSL pinning.
- Legal Compliance: We may disclose data if required by law or to protect our rights.
5. Data Retention & Deletion
We retain your data as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us at rabbisudo@gmail.com. Upon request, we will delete your data within 30 days.

We implement industry-standard security measures including HTTPS, SSL certificate pinning, and token-based authentication (Bearer JWT) to protect your data in transit and at rest. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

StudyVerse is intended for users aged 13 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately.
